Karl is an International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association (IPTPA) Certified pickleball instructor with 4+ years playing experience at a high level. His DUPR rating is 4.5.
He has medaled in multiple tournaments: Nationals 2022, Texas Open 2021 & Houston Open 2023 to name a few.
Karl is also fluent in Spanish.
I have 30+years as a former Division 1 tennis player and have taught tennis all over the world. I’m now an International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association (IPTPA) Certified pickleball instructor in my 3rd year teaching pickleball. My passion is teaching and I am thrilled to be able to fulfill this at Pickleball Hideout, and to be able to instruct all ages and levels in the game.

Ernie Ortiz started his pickleball journey in 2018 and has never looked back. He is the founder of Lone Star Pickleball and Lone Star Pickleball Academy. As the first Level 2 IPTPA instructor in the area, Ernie can be found teaching at The Woodlands Country Club, Life Time Shenandoah and now here at Pickleball Hideout.
He also serves as the Conroe and Woodlands Pickleball Ambassador for the USA Pickleball Association.
